About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in the Pacific Northwest, near Portland, Oregon in a rural town called Sherwood. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products. I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs. I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy essential oils and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines. I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! Oregon Rain Patchouli Orange Handmade Soap is naturally scented with 100% essential oils. It is an earthy, warm blend of patchouli and sweet orange essential oils with ground almonds, oatmeal, citrus peel, and rose petal for a natural exfoliating, extra moisturizing soap.

Each bar is handcrafted and handmade especially for you! Our soap bars are really made with Oregon rainwater that we collect, filter and purify ourselves. We use rainwater because it's a soft water and a natural resource adding uniqueness to our products. We also use olive oil for its skin conditioning properties and coconut, rice bran and castor oils to provide a gentle, creamy, fluffy lather. We use natural colorants, herbs, nutrients and essential oils for aromatherapy benefits when we can. Otherwise, we use cosmetic grade colorants and fragrance oils for vibrant color and scent. Each bar is aged for at least 30 days. Not only will the soap last longer, but it will also be at the optimum mildness.

    I started using this soap many years ago after purchasing it at the Tillamook County Fair. I love the scent . The bars are made well and 1 bar lasts a long time . I highly recommend this product.
