About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in the Pacific Northwest, near Portland, Oregon in a rural town called Sherwood. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products. I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs. I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy essential oils and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines. I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! A great gift idea!  You can customize what 4 lip balm flavors are included in the boxed 4 pack.  

Our lip balms are 100% natural, they are petroleum free, color free, and only natural flavors are used. We do not add sugar or artificial sweeteners in any of our lip balms so they smell great but have no taste. They are not waxy or oily and they go on smoothly to moisturize the lips. Petroleum made lip products such as "Chapstick" protect the lips, they do not moisturize. Our lip balms have a natural SPF of 5.

Ingredients: sweet almond oil, beeswax, shea butter, vitamin E oil, natural and/or organic flavorings

 We never test our products on animals, we only test them on our friends and family!

    The custom lip balm pack let's you buy 4 of the same scent or multiple scents for a discounted rate. Great way to try the various different scents as well as get a bunch of your favorite scent. Highly recommend the red huckleberry scent.

    Oregon Rain Lip Balm

    I first bought this at Made in Oregon, on a whim, after we moved to Oregon in 2005. It is the best lip balm I have used, creamy but not greasy. I am now totally addicted to it. I have an open tube of it in my purse, my backpack, my car, the kitchen table, the bathroom -- everywhere! I buy it for holiday gifts for my family, too.

    The texture of the lip balms is what it's all about. They are "goldilocks" .... not too soft, not to hard; and certainly not waxy. They just glide on, and offer a faint whiff of fragrance. Perfect in every way!
