About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in the Pacific Northwest, near Portland, Oregon in a rural town called Sherwood. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products. I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs. I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy essential oils and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines. I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! We only want to bring the best product to our customers so we only test on family first. We do not test on animals! Faithfully, Johnna Zeigler

I love, love, love this lotion! I love the smell, that it has all safe ingredients. It goes on smooth and keeps my skin moist. I wish you would make this into a perfume too! I ordered enough to last me awhile!! Well Done!!

    Simply wonderful

A really nice and subtle earthy scent. I tend to lean toward more spicy and musky scents and this is lovely. (If y'all made something with a patchouli base I'd be all over it, haha. *hint hint*) The texture is great, too. I'll definitely be using this a lot this winter.

    Dragon Slayer Moisturizing Cream

Unique, hard to define scent. It changes over the hours after application. A tiny bit goes a long way which makes this very economical. Non-greasy, light cream. Pro or con is up to you but the soap makes my bathroom smell a little like root beer. :-)
