About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in the Pacific Northwest, near Portland, Oregon in a rural town called Sherwood. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products. I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs. I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy essential oils and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines. I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! This liquid soap is in a special bottle that when pumped will come out in a handful of foam.  All it takes is 1-2 pumps to cleanse the hands with this moisturizing cleansing soap.

    I purchased the Apple Cinnamon hand soap a couple years ago at the Tillamook County Fair. I used this product along with other scented soaps until running out. I went online and was surprised to know that this soap and other great products are made locally in Sherwood OR, near me here in Beaverton, OR. For a great scented soap this is the best and highly recommend it.

    I buy several of the liquid hand soap at one time. I wash my hands a lot and this is the only soap that does not dry my hands out. The scents are fabulous but I really like Cucumber Melon, Lemon, and Apple Cinnamon but that’s just my person opinion.

    I purchased this soap last year, and some house guests commented on the scent and the cleansing action. So, I purchased several dispensers .. some for home use and others as gifts. Who could debate apple/cinnamon scent? Love this product!
