Oregon Rain Naturals began with a simple belief: the things we use on our skin should be gentle, honest, and made with care.
We’re Johnna and Rob Zeigler, the husband‑and‑wife team behind Oregon Rain Soap Company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. From our home in Sherwood, Oregon—a small rural town just outside Portland—we handcraft soaps, lotions, and body care inspired by the beauty and purity of the Pacific Northwest.
A family tradition of soapmaking
Soapmaking has been part of my life since childhood. My mom, Elayne, began making soap in the late 1970s, and our home was always filled with the scent of warm oatmeal and simple, unscented bars. Those were the only soaps I used growing up. When I went to college and tried store‑bought soaps for the first time, I quickly learned my skin didn’t tolerate them.
After graduating with a teaching degree, I returned to what I knew—handmade soap. With my parents’ help, I borrowed the molds my dad built and learned to make soap from the heart. I dreamed of one day creating a business called Oregon Rain Soap, but life moved on, and for years I made soap only for family and friends.
The moment everything changed
When I met my husband Rob, he encouraged me to explore scent—something I had always loved but never used in soap. He bought me my very first essential oil: lavender. Together we made a batch, and it was an instant hit. That one bar sparked countless hours of experimenting, researching, and blending scents and herbs side by side.
In 2003, Rob helped me turn a long‑held dream into reality, and Oregon Rain Soap was born.
Growing with purpose
What started with a single bar of lavender soap has grown into a full line of handcrafted products: liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy sprays, and more. In 2019, we expanded again and created Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to bring even more natural, rain‑inspired products to our customers.
Every product we make is crafted with intention—using real Oregon rainwater, skin‑loving oils, and ingredients chosen for purity and comfort. We test everything on family first, never on animals, and we only release products we truly love.
