About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in Oregon. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products.

I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends.

It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs.

I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines.

I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! We only want to bring the best product to our customers so we only test on family first. We do not test on animals!

    OMGoodness this is the best ever. So nice on my dry hands. Actually it doesn't dry out my hands like other sanitizers do. I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for adding it to you wonderful product line.

    Oregon Rain Soap's hand sanitizer is a great product. It keeps us safe and moisturizes our hands at the same time. The price is right for this much safety during the pandemic!

    This hand sanitizer is great, I love that it doesn’t have a strong fragrance. The packaging is nice and comes in several awesome sizes. It dries quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind. I will definitely buy more. I love giving the small size as gifts. Thank you for providing such an essential item during these tough times.

    Thank you Oregon Rain for making this. I could not find any over here in Central OR. I is so much better than Purell. I am older and volunteer in a First Grade class room. We have to use a great deal of sanitizer. It dried my hands out so bad, I would use soap, if at all possible. Now with the virus, I have to use a sanitizer when I am out. This is SO much better for the job.

    This is a very nice product at a reasonable price. And, it has no discernable fragrance, which is good for a hand sanitizer. It is available in different sizes and the small size is great for car, purse, pocket or backpack. Larger sizes can be used to refill the small bottles. As a native Oregonian, I am proud to help support Oregon small businesses during the COVID-19 outbreak.

    I love this hand sanitize ! is smells so good not harsh like the others and it leave your hands feeling soft. the other stuff smells like chemicals but this is a soft sweet smell! I will reorder when I get my next check, oh and it came really fast too! Thank you so much!
