About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in the Pacific Northwest, near Portland, Oregon in a rural town called Sherwood. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products. I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs. I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy essential oils and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines. I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! A blend of summer flowers and fruits with a rich musk undertone. With its aromatic intensity it just may put a little bit of romance in the air. 

Each bar is handcrafted and handmade especially for you! Our soap bars are really made with Oregon rainwater that we collect, filter and purify ourselves. We use rainwater because it's a soft water and a natural resource adding uniqueness to our products. We also use olive oil for its skin conditioning properties and coconut, rice bran and castor oils to provide a gentle, creamy, fluffy lather. Each bar is aged for at least 30 days. Not only will the soap last longer, but it will also be at the optimum mildness.

    i just love the gentle scent of Rain in all of your Rain fragrance products. The soap is very silky and leaves a nice hint of fragrance.

    I grew up in the rainy Northwest. I received this soap/scent as a gift some years ago, and immediately decided that Oregon Rain Soap would be the only soap I'd buy from then on. Great products, great customer service, great company.

    We have used Oregon Rain Soap, in a variety of scents, for many years and have not bought soap from any other source since we began buying from them. We love the pureness and the way it outlasts other soaps, as well as the soft lather it makes. It's always a treat to receive our shipment with several different scents.
